Even though the Coral Park Rams have not done well against the Southwest Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Coral Park had just enough and edged Southwest out 33-31. This was payback for Coral Park, who suffered a 27-19 loss the last time these two teams met.
Coral Park was led to victory by Stacie Jimenez and Maya Vivas-Acevedo. Jimenez scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals, while Vivas-Acevedo scored 16 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Vivas-Acevedo has scored at least 25% of Coral Park's points.
The victory got Coral Park back to even at 1-1. As for Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Coral Park will be playing at home against Edison at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Southwest's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sunset at 3:30 p.m. on December 4th.
