If the DePue Little Giants were feeling good off their 70-49 takedown of the LaMoille Lions on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. DePue had to suffer through a rough 72-39 loss at the hands of Serena. DePue has struggled against Serena recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Pancho Moreno and Vance Hayes certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Moreno scored 15 points, while Hayes scored 14 points. The game was Moreno's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Luis Lopez, who scored 6 points.
DePue has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Serena, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DePue will challenge Hiawatha at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Serena, they will head out on the road to face off against Illinois Math & Science Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
