North Wilkes's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. LJ Hendren threw for 124 and 3 touchdowns and Josh Bare had 57 yards receiving. On the ground Ethan Adams chipped in 86 yards. Justin Shepherd helped North Wilkes' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 36 yards.
Bare was the best receiver in 2A/1A Conference 6 this week as the Vikings topped Wilkes Central. Bare tallied 3 receptions for 57 yards. Shepherd helped North Wilkes' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 36 yards.
North Wilkes' Hendren and Bare have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Hendren has thrown for 2,287 yards this season, while Bare has 45 catches for 988 yards. Victor Williams from the Eagles leads the league in rushing with 1,495 yards.
Bare of the Monty Chipman's team's is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 12 receiving yards in this week's game against Brevard to get there. He has recorded 45 catches for 988 yards this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Alleghany takes on the Elks. As it stands, the Trojans are in fifth, while Elkin is in fourth.
The Huskies led 2A/1A Conference 6 in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on James Scott Wood's team.
