The Liberty Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the Lewis-Palmer Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Liberty was fully in charge, breezing past Harrison 55-15 at home. With Liberty ahead 30-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Liberty relied on the efforts of Alyssa Gardner, who scored 11 points along with six assists and six rebounds, and Jacie Bunck, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Bunck's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ava Dawes, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Lewis-Palmer unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 36-26 to Vista PEAK Prep. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lewis-Palmer has scored all season.
Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lewis-Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Lewis-Palmer when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 46-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
