After flying high against Grainger  last Friday, Jefferson County came back down to earth. The Jefferson County Patriots fell just short of the Sevier County Smoky Bears by a score of  6-4 on Monday. Jefferson County has not had much luck with Sevier County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
  Cole Osborne was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  didn't allow a single  earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.
 At the plate,  Brody Carr and  Ryan Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Carr  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3, while  Smith  went 1-for-2 with a  stolen base, two  RBI,  and a  double.  Briley Larue was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Sevier County, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson County will  take on Hardin Valley Academy at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
