The Cook Hornets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Sumter County 49-48 on Saturday. This was payback for Cook, who suffered a 43-40 loss the last time these two teams met.
Cook had a senior duo take command as Keshun McKever scored ten points and Ny'shaun Wallace scored ten points.
Cook's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for Sumter County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
Cook will look to defend their home court on Friday against Irwin County at 7:30 p.m. Irwin County is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Sumter County, they will head out on the road to challenge Fitzgerald at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fitzgerald knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Sumter County likes a good challenge.
