If Central Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Highland Tech, they should've done a better job of containing Akela Taylor. The Highland Tech Rams blew past the Central Academy Cougars 35-14 on Friday thanks in part to Taylor, who posted seven points along with 11 steals and seven boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Highland Tech has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points per game. As for Central Academy, their defeat was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Highland Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-34 loss against North Gaston on the 10th. Central Academy has also already played their next contest, a 100-6 defeat against Union Academy on the 10th.
