After a string of four wins, the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They suffered a tough 89-63 loss at the hands of Atlantic. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Pompano Beach had strong showings from Jonathan Berwig, who scored 28 points along with six steals and five assists, and Mason Rowan, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Odom, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Pompano Beach now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Atlantic, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Pompano Beach will head out on the road to face off against Piper at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Piper is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Atlantic will take on Forest Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
