The CHAMPS Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Triumph Charter Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
CHAMPS scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bert Corona Charter 65-38 at home. The win was just what CHAMPS needed coming off of a 59-34 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Triumph Charter had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed by Valley Oaks CES at home to the tune of 78-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Triumph Charter has posted yet this season.
Triumph Charter found their leader in underclassman Antonio Garcia III, who scored 20 points. Garcia III is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Logan Jiho, who scored ten points.
The win got CHAMPS back to even at 5-5. As for Triumph Charter, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home.
CHAMPS was taken down by Triumph Charter 66-23 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can CHAMPS avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
