Southwestern has gone a perfect 10-0 against Shawe Memorial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rebels will host the Hilltoppers at 5:00 p.m. Southwestern's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Shawe Memorial's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While Southwestern's win against Clarksville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels never let the Generals get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rebels have posted since May 27, 2024.

Austin Jenkins made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.1 innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Southwestern is undefeated when Jenkins posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Shawe Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Milan, falling 24-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 6, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Shawe Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Hill, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Bradley Martinez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Southwestern has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Shawe Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
Southwestern took their win against Shawe Memorial in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Hilltoppers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
