Ticonderoga has gone 7-2 against Beekmantown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Sentinels will take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Ticonderoga knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Beekmantown likes a good challenge.
On Monday, Ticonderoga earned a 10-5 win over AuSable Valley. The victory continues a trend for the Sentinels in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.
Myleigh Drinkwine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.
On the hitting side, Addy Moore was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Jazlyn Disbrow was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Beekmantown made easy work of Plattsburgh on Tuesday and carried off a 12-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Ashley Barnes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Katharine Jewell, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Ticonderoga's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Beekmantown, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ticonderoga has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Beekmantown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Ticonderoga took their victory against Beekmantown in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sentinels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
