Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Notre Dame-Green Pond ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Palisades 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted against the Pirates since March 25, 2022.
Madelina Moyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Natalie Lilly and Riley Palank did most of the damage at the plate: Lilly went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Palank went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Lilly has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Rachel Fisher, who went 4-for-5 with one run.
Notre Dame-Green Pond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive matchups.
Bangor's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
