Basketball Recap: Ecrin Mart's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hammond Bishop Noll over Bowman Academy

Hammond Bishop Noll lost against Bowman Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bowman Academy Eagles. The Warriors were down 47-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ecrin Mart, who posted 20 points and four steals. Mart's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jaiden Hall was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hammond Bishop Noll smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Kahlen Robinson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bowman Academy, going 12 for 26 on her way to 31 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least a third of Bowman Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiyah Jackson, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points and six rebounds.

Hammond Bishop Noll dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Bowman Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Hammond Bishop Noll has already played their next contest (against Wheeler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bowman Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-26 loss against Marquette Catholic on the 22nd.
