The Corinth Riverhawks will venture away from home to take on the Warrensburg Burgers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Corinth has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Warrensburg will arrive with four straight wins.
Corinth couldn't beat Lake George on Sunday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Riverhawks came up short against the Lakers, falling 18-9.

Sam Tangora and Edward Maguire did some serious damage despite the final result: Tangora got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Maguire got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Tangora has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Ashton Wright was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Warrensburg came out on top against North Warren Central on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run seventh inning. The Burgers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 14-6 victory. Considering the Burgers have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kawliga Duell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Duell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Caleb Remington was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ben Holcomb, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Warrensburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Warrensburg's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Corinth, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Corinth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Warrensburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Corinth might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Warrensburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Riverhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
