After flying high against the Irving Tigers last Friday, The Richardson Eagles came back down to earth. Richardson lost to Highland Park at home by a decisive 34-15 margin on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Richardson in their matchups with Highland Park: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Richardson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Donovan Ford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 150 yards while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
Richardson now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Highland Park, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Richardson will head out on the road to face off against Dallas Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Dallas Jesuit presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Richardson in Texas (Dallas Jesuit is ranked 161st, while Richardson is ranked 450th). As for Highland Park, they will look to defend their home field on November 3rd against Pearce at 7:00 p.m.
