The Oakley Plainsmen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ellis Railroaders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakley is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Last Monday, Oakley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Norton, but they still walked away with a 49-43 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Oakley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Norton is ranked 30th).
Meanwhile, Ellis was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Ness City 53-22 at home. That 31 point margin sets a new team best for Ellis this season.
Oakley pushed their record up to 10-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Ellis, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Oakley came up short against Ellis in their previous matchup back in January, falling 51-42. Will Oakley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
