Legacy Christian Academy has won five straight games at home, while Troy Christian has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Knights will welcome the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Legacy Christian Academy beat Greenon 6-1.
Meanwhile, Troy Christian made easy work of Northwestern on Tuesday and carried off a 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Judah Simmons was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs.
In other pitching news, Troy Christian got a great performance from Logan Cool as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Cool posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
Back at the plate, Logan Broomhall was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Landon Day was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.
Legacy Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Troy Christian, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
Legacy Christian Academy came up short against Troy Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2018, falling 11-8. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
