The Batavia Bulldogs will face off against the Wilmington Hurricane at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Batavia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Batavia got the win against Western Brown by a conclusive 16-3. The Bulldogs have beaten the Broncos the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Broncos has come to flipping the script.
Brayden Schmittou was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Schmittou was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Batavia pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Wilmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Wilmington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Batavia has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .525. It's a different story for Wilmington, though, as they've only averaged .279. Will they be able to contain Batavia's hitters?
Batavia took their victory against Wilmington in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricane turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
