The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves will square off against the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Danville, sneaking past 5-3. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Charlie Cotter and Josh Bingman dominated on the mound. Cotter tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits, while Bingman struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory is 4-2 when Cotter allows two or fewer earned runs, but 9-10 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Anthony Suscha was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Marcus, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Guerin Catholic waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Tate Troxell made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Finn Holden looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Grant Beard, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ian Taylor, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Guerin Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lebanon didn't got any hits.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Guerin Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 15-12.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory couldn't quite finish off Guerin Catholic in their previous meeting back in April and fell 11-9. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
