Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perry). They put the hurt on the Edgewood Warriors with a sharp 24-5 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Perry pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Edgewood, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Coming up, Perry will welcome Lake Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 3.9, the Cougars 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Edgewood, they will head out on the road to face off against Struthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
