In what's become a running theme this season, Northeast Metro RVT gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Notre Dame Cristo Rey on the road to the tune of 63-26. While fans of Northeast Metro RVT might be used to big wins, the 37-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Alesandre Monge had a dynamite game for Northeast Metro RVT, scoring 17 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monge has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Cardoso, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Stoneham came up short against Watertown on Tuesday and fell 51-43. While losing is never fun, Stoneham can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Watertown is ranked 122nd).
Northeast Metro RVT pushed their record up to 8-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Stoneham, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
Northeast Metro RVT was taken down by Stoneham 74-46 when the teams last played back in January. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northeast Metro RVT was down 45-18.
