The North Iredell Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. Their tough 36-13 defeat to East Lincoln might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, North Iredell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 240th, while East Lincoln is ranked 106th).
Grant Lawless looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 179 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. East Lincoln also got help from Jackson Beam who showed off his sure hands for 122 receiving yards.
North Iredell's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for East Lincoln, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
North Iredell will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Iredell at 6:30 p.m. West Iredell is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for East Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against North Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Lincoln is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
