Jackson-Olin is 2-8 against Minor since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Jackson-Olin Mustangs' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Minor Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Jackson-Olin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Minor is ranked 61st).
Jackson-Olin suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Parker, falling 59-27.
Meanwhile, Minor came up short against Homewood on Tuesday and fell 63-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Minor in their matchups with Homewood: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their loss, Minor saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Carlos Moore, who scored 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmelo Burroughs, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Jackson-Olin bumped their record down to 1-17 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Minor, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.
Jackson-Olin lost to Minor on the road by a decisive 60-41 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Jackson-Olin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
