The DuSable Panthers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They claimed a resounding 51-10 victory over ACERO Garcia at home. This was payback for DuSable, who suffered a 18-16 loss the last time these two teams met.
Among those leading the charge was Jayniha Jones, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Damaya Plant, who scored 11 points.
DuSable has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record. Despite that those good results, the team's offense hasn't been rolling: across that stretch, they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for ACERO Garcia, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DuSable won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kennedy at 5:00 p.m. on December 5th. Kennedy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for ACERO Garcia, they will head out on the road to face off against Harlan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harlan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
