The Fossil Ridge Sabercats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season. They really took it to Loveland for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-35 win on the road. The victory was just what Fossil Ridge needed coming off of a 84-61 defeat in their prior game.
Fossil Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Nutting out in front who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Nutting's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Eli Hughes was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Loveland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joey Circenis, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds, and Mason Morris who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Fossil Ridge's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-3. As for Loveland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Fossil Ridge will be staying on the road on January 6, 2024 to face off against Erie at 12:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Erie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Fossil Ridge is ranked 42nd). After both having extra time off, Loveland and Rocky Mountain will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 11:30 a.m. on January 6, 2024.
