Factoryville Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Marshall Academy with a sharp 42-22 victory. Factoryville Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Marshall Academy saw an underclassman step up: Malia Taylor scored 15 points along with four steals. That was a full 68.2% of Marshall Academy's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Amiah Poindexter was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four blocks and three steals.
Factoryville Christian pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Marshall Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Factoryville Christian will face off against Battle Creek Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Factoryville Christian's defense has only allowed 19.6 points per game this season, so Battle Creek Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Marshall Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Will Carleton Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marshall Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
