It was a good run, but the Hampton County Hurricanes unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hilton Head Island. Hampton County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hilton Head Island apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Tuesday.
Hilton Head Island can attribute much of their success to Leah Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least 25% of Hilton Head Island's points. Deja Godsun was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Hampton County's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4. As for Hilton Head Island, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Hampton County will be home for the holidays to greet Battery Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Battery Creek is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Hilton Head Island, they will head out on the road to face off against Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
