Lakewood Ranch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Liam Scalzo led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of David Young, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Lakewood Ranch now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gulf Coast, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood Ranch will take on Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gulf Coast, they will be playing at home against Naples at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Naples knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Gulf Coast likes a good challenge.
