St. Andrew's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Valerie Ward out in front who went 8-for-16 on her way to 17 points along with eight steals and five assists. Those eight steals gave Ward a new career-high. Aubri Rutledge was another key player, shooting 54% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
St. Andrew's smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
While South Effingham didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Effingham County 66-26. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-10.
St. Andrew's record is now 4-2. As for South Effingham, their record now sits at 9-1.
