The Valley Central Vikings put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Monticello 58-24 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Valley Central has managed all season.
Monticello's loss came despite strong showings from Amiah Neails and Morgan Hutchins. Neails scored eight points, while Hutchins scored seven points.
Valley Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Monticello, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Central will take on Wallkill at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monticello won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Goshen Central at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Goshen Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
