Chesapeake Science Point is 0-5 against the Mustangs since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Chesapeake Science Point are on the road again and plays the Meade Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Chesapeake Science Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Mustangs are ranked 66th).
Even though Chesapeake Science Point has not done well against the Cougars recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Chesapeake Science Point snuck past the Cougars with a 52-47 victory.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Meade's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 78-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Broadneck. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Meade had strong showings from Josh Holmes, who scored 21 points, and Keon Scott, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holmes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ashton Turman, who scored 11 points.
Chesapeake Science Point's win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11. As for Meade, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Chesapeake Science Point lost to the Mustangs on the road by a decisive 79-60 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Chesapeake Science Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
