The Floyd County Buffaloes will face off against the Glenvar Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Glenvar will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Floyd County extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. Everything went the Buffaloes' way against Patrick Henry as they made off with a 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Emma Biesterveld made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Another player making a difference was Addison Allen, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Floyd County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenvar). They put the hurt on Salem with a sharp 17-5 victory on Thursday. The Highlanders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2025 (when they won 18-0).
Floyd County's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Glenvar, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.
Floyd County came out on top in a nail-biter against Glenvar when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 8-7. Will the Buffaloes repeat their success, or do the Highlanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
