The West Johnston Wildcats are taking a road trip to  take on the South Johnston Trojans  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
West Johnston took a loss when they played away from home  last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. They blew past Western Harnett 35-7. The Wildcats' offense checked out after the first half but had enough  points banked to take the game anyway.

Meanwhile, South Johnston got themselves on the board against Triton on Thursday, but Triton never followed suit. They breezed past the Hawks to the tune of  41-0. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than 20  points this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
West Johnston better keep an eye on  Holt Langston. He was instrumental in South Johnston's win, rushing for 193 yards and three  touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also picking up 48 receiving yards and one  score.
 South Johnston's run defense was locked in: Triton could only muster 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank  Mason Weaver for the heroic effort on defense: he. South Johnston didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 14.8.
 The  win was  the fourth in a row for South Johnston, bringing their record up to 6-3. The  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 39.0 points over those games. As for West Johnston, their record is now 4-5.
 West Johnston came out on top in a nail-biter against South Johnston in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, sneaking past  30-27. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was   Langston, who rushed for 147 yards and three  TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Now that he's  got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Wildcats still be able to contain  Langston? There's only one way to find out.
