Make it five blowout wins for the Pleasanton Blu-Jays this season. They put the hurt on Altoona-Midway with a sharp 70-45 win on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for Pleasanton who now have four in a row.
Mario Davis was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Tony Gillespie was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Altoona-Midway still got an impressive performance from Jacob Meigs, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Meigs continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of William Stackhouse, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Pleasanton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Altoona-Midway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Pleasanton will be playing at home against Crest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Crest is ranked 268th, while Pleasanton is ranked 248th). As for Altoona-Midway, they will head out on the road to take on St. Paul at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
