Clearwater got themselves on the board against Zephyrhills on Monday, but Zephyrhills never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Tornadoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

Jacob Howard looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jackson King, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was George Tzorbatzoglou, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Clearwater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zephyrhills only posted an OBP of .125.

Clearwater is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. Zephyrhills' defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearwater will host East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Zephyrhills, they will be playing at home against Tenoroc at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Zephyrhills is facing Tenoroc at the right time seeing as Tenoroc is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
