The Kalama Chinooks were the 65-54 winner over the Morton/White Pass Timberwolves when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Kalama took a hard 66-50 fall against the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Kalama saw an underclassman step up: Abel Koski scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Koski also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jevan Lucente, who scored 13 points.
Kalama's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Morton/White Pass, they pushed their record up to 7-12 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Kalama will take on the Ducks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Toutle Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Chinooks in Washington (the Ducks are ranked 73rd, while the Chinooks are ranked 295th). As for Morton/White Pass, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Napavine is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
