The Mattamuskeet Lakers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They fell to Hobgood Charter 49-44. Mattamuskeet lost against Hobgood Charter in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 69-34 score last time.
Hobgood Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Roberson out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Roberson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyhe Higgs, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Mattamuskeet has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Hobgood Charter, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Mattamuskeet will be playing at home against Bear Grass Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mattamuskeet has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hobgood Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hobgood Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
