The West Washington Senators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 27 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat North Daviess 74-41 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-18.
Jayla Batt was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Meredith Deaton, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
West Washington's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for North Daviess, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
West Washington will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Northeast Dubois at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Northeast Dubois focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday. North Daviess will finish 2023 at home by hosting Pike Central at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday. Pike Central is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
