Fans got a thrill when Will McKinnis and Kade VanMeter connected against Jones. The longest such play in 2A District 2 this season, the connection resulted in 68 yards.
Northeast fell to Mount St. Mary 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Joseph Lemiuex was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 94 yards as Christian Heritage fell to Lincoln Christian. Micah Wilson also contributed to the rushing game with 35 yards on the ground.
Mikes was the best wideout in the league this week as the Crusaders lost to the Bulldogs. Mikes racked up 8 receptions for 144 yards. Gabe LittleJim helped Christian Heritage's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 116 yards.
McKinnis put up the best numbers through the air as Oklahoma Christian beat the Longhorns. He finished with a total of 12 completions for 168 yards and 3 touchdowns. McKinnis' favorite target this week was VanMeter, who caught 5 passes for 111 yards.
Spencer Lindsey provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Christian Heritage lost to Lincoln Christian. He completed 12 passes for 227 yards and also ran for 1 yards.
He went 12-19 with 1 interception.
Leading 2A District 2 in both passing and receiving yards, John Merrell's team's Lindsey and Mikes have proven to be a lethal combination. Lindsey has thrown for 485 yards this season, while Mikes, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 12 catches for 222 yards. Maurice Wright from Luther leads the league in rushing with 386 yards.
As it stands, the Saints are in fourth, while Crooked Oak is in third.
Dibble led the league in scoring this week by notching 38 points on Empire.
