Madi Janicek made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Weiser got a massive performance out of Alli Navarrete, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Ellie Shirts, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Weiser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moscow only posted an OBP of .176.
Meanwhile, on Friday Skyline's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against Gooding. That's two games straight that the Grizzlies have won by just one run.
Like Weiser, Skyline also got a great game from a two-way player: Mikayela Lopez. On the mound, she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lopez has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, Skyline let Traeley Shwartz and Brylee Scott run wild. Shwartz went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Scott went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Jensen, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Skyline's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Weiser, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Weiser has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .519. However, it's not like Skyline struggles in that department as they've averaged .597. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
