The Los Alamitos Griffins will face off against the Edison Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Los Alamitos 12.8, Edison 10.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Los Alamitos turned things around against Marina on Wednesday. They blew past the Vikings 27-6. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 20 points or more this season.
Los Alamitos found their leader in sophomore Ava Seedorf, who threw for 189 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown.

One reason for the win was Los Alamitos' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. Olivia Quick was especially locked on to Marina's QB and sacked her six times. Quick is crushing it when it comes to sacks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Edison got themselves on the board against Corona del Mar on Wednesday, but Corona del Mar never followed suit. They came out on top against the Sea Kings by a score of 7-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Chargers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Sea Kings are ranked 108th).
Los Alamitos better keep an eye on Avea Niumata. She was instrumental in Edison's win, throwing for 133 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 40 receiving yards. What's more, Niumata racked up 88.1 passer rating, the most she's had over her last five matchups.
Edison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ruby Khoshkbariie, Jaylen Maroney, and Ayla Khoshkbariie picked up one apiece. Edison got some further help from Addison Bond: she picked up three sacks and made five total tackles.
Los Alamitos' win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Edison, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.
Los Alamitos and Edison were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in September, but Los Alamitos came up empty-handed after a 21-20 defeat. Will the Griffins have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
