Cornerstone gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last Friday. They made easy work of Union Christian Academy and carried off a 44-14 win. Senior Jack Roberts, who rushed for 160 yards and 5 touchdowns, was a major factor in Cornerstone's success.
Meanwhile, Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 24-58 punch to the gut against Wright Christian. Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 8-29.
Cornerstone's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. We'll find out if Cornerstone can add another positive mark to their record or if Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Cornerstone's step.
