Draughn is 1-9 against Patton since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Draughn Wildcats will be playing at home against the Patton Panthers at 7:45 p.m. Draughn, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Patton's (thus far) undefeated season.
Draughn fought the good fight in their overtime match against East Burke on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 67-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Tuesday (58), Draughn still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Draughn saw an underclassman step up: D'Andre Moore scored 30 points. Moore scored a full 46.9% of Draughn's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Mcelyea, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Maiden scored an imposing 66 points on Tuesday, Patton still came out on top. Patton took their contest against Maiden 75-66.
The last time Draughn won on the road was back back in November. Having now lost three straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Patton, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
