Princeton (Cincinnati, Ohio) as it fell 27-26 to
Sycamore (Cincinnati, Ohio).
After taking the lead on a field goal by
Tyrell Gilbert, the Vikings went into halftime with a 13-6 lead. The Aviators took the lead for good with a
Greg Simpson touchdown run in the fifth quarter.
Despite scoring seven points in the third, Sycamore still trailed by 7 points going into the fourth quarter. But seven points in the fourth helped SHS pull out the victory.
The Aviators' most effective player was Simpson. The junior running back threw one touchdown and ran for three touchdowns.
Gilbert played well for Princeton. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown and kicked one field goal.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 32-13 win for Sycamore.
The defeat comes as a step back for Princeton, which notched a 48-6 victory over Hamilton in its previous outing. With the win SHS extended its winning streak to three games.
Sycamore (7-1) goes up against Oak Hills in a Greater Miami game matchup next week, while Princeton (1-7) locks horns with Mason also in a Greater Miami game.
