The Chatfield Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Arvada West Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chatfield is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Chatfield struggled with offensive rebounds on Wednesday (the Eagles had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Chatfield was dealt a 78-37 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Chatfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Eagles are ranked third).
Chatfield's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tanner Teff, who scored 11 points, and Indiana Hostetler who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, even though Lakewood scored an imposing 60 points last Friday, Arvada West still came out on top. Arvada West took their game against the Tigers 70-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Arvada West.
James Hadzic and Keegen Balistreri were among the main playmakers for Arvada West as the former scored 15 points along with six assists and the latter scored 17 points along with four steals. Hadzic continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Reed, who scored 11 points.
Chatfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Arvada West, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Chatfield, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 71-56 loss to the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January. Can Chatfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
