Turpin is 7-2 against the Wildcats since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Turpin Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Elkhart Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Turpin will be strutting in after a win while the Wildcats will be coming in after a defeat.
Turpin put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Monday. Everything went their way against Boise City as Turpin made off with a 73-48 win. Given Turpin's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Wildcats are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Bryson Parker, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jhett Huffman, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Elkhart, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-53 loss to the Trojans on Tuesday.
Turpin has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Elkhart, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Turpin against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 66-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Turpin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
