The Kent Denver Sun Devils had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat DSST: Cedar 85-44 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Kent Denver, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kent Denver was led to victory by Anya Peper and Austin Duncan. Peper scored 23 points along with 8 steals and 5 rebounds, while Duncan dropped a double-double on 21 points and 25 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caroline Phillips, who scored 15 points along with 7 steals.
Despite the defeat, DSST: Cedar saw an underclassman step up: Amaya Paul scored 13 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Rhodes, who scored 11 points.
Kent Denver's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for DSST: Cedar, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kent Denver will take on DSST: Montview at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for DSST: Cedar, they will be playing at home against Aurora Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
