The Anderson Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alief Elsik.
Leading Alief Elsik to victory were David Uwalaka and Ricky Wilson. Uwalaka dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Wilson scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The contest was Wilson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Ofesi, who scored 6 points along with 13 rebounds.
Anderson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Alief Elsik, their victory bumped their record up to 1-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anderson will take on Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Anderson in Texas (Johnson is ranked 47th, while Anderson is ranked 983rd). Alief Elsik will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pasadena Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th.
