They took their contest on the road on Monday with ease, bagging a 68-32 win over Villa Angela-St. Joseph. With Western Reserve Academy ahead 49-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western Reserve Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Islay Moore, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Steindl, who scored 14 points.
Despite the defeat, Villa Angela-St. Joseph had strong showings from Elizabeth Dunmire, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, and Cecelia Oriani, who scored five points along with six rebounds and five steals. The match was Dunmire's 13th in a row with at least ten points.
Villa Angela-St. Joseph struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Western Reserve Academy racked up 25 assists.
Western Reserve Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.
Western Reserve Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Louisville at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th.
