Purvis got a great performance from Kade Lawler as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Lawler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on JoJo Parker, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Parker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Purvis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbia only posted an OBP of .211.
Purvis' win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Columbia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-7.
